test edit
This is my first project test edit. I had never worked with iMovie before so, This task allowed me to learn new ways to edit my mini film to create a film that made sense. From using this software i have found that it is very easy to use, and it is very straight forward, meaning you don't need a lot of practice to produce a good quality edit.
One this i found difficult was, cutting small amount of speeches out of the film when making the, conversation between the two characters, so the conversation seems continues, while using the 180 degree rule.
During the mini film you will hear a range of sound effects. the sound effects you hear are all pre loaded on to iMovie, this is a feature which i liked as i had found it very useful, as it had a school bell sound, this allowed me to reenforce the establishing shot to show the audience that the location was at a school. In this film i also used music where there was no speech. This song was also supplied by iMovie. I chose this song as it reflected the age of the characters in the film and to fill in the, elongated walk which character two took, so it kept the film interesting and the audiences attention.
While doing this test edit i learnt how to, fade in and out music, this is a good effect, because if the music just suddenly cut of half way it would make the production sound untidy and interrupted. i also learned how to mute the background noise as some of it was unwanted noise like doors slamming of people talking, as it was either to distracting or to loud when the music was put over it.
To improve this edit i could use titles and credits, this is so the audience know what the film is called and the actors etc.
Overall i think that iMovie, is a good software to edit films on as it gives you a range of options, t improve you film from sounds and music, to filters and and credits, furthermore it is very easy to use, and export the film so you can share it with others, on to Youtube and other video sharing sites.
